TEDxYouth@NIA is a dynamic, student-led initiative that shares the core mission of TED: to provide a platform where individuals can present ideas worth spreading. Each year, a dedicated team of senior students at Newton International Academy comes together to organise this inspiring event, showcasing 5 to 9 distinctive speakers, each bringing unique perspectives and powerful messages aimed at educating, empowering, and motivating young minds.
More than just a stage for thought-provoking talks, TEDxYouth@NIA fosters awareness of the incredible potential of today’s youth to shape a brighter, more sustainable future. Speakers not only share knowledge but also ignite passion, purpose, and action in their audiences.
Over the past decade, TEDxYouth@NIA has evolved into a prestigious annual event, hosted at various esteemed venues including our school campus, the Msheireb Museums, and most recently, the cinema at Doha Fire Station. Each event leaves a lasting impact—not only on the students—but on every attendee, including teachers, parents, and guests, who leave feeling inspired and motivated to be the change they wish to see in the world.
The planning and execution of an event of this scale provides our students with invaluable life skills. Through their involvement, they develop leadership, time management, organisational skills, empathy, collaboration, and teamwork, preparing them not only for future academic and professional success, but also for meaningful community engagement.
